WALK FOR HEAT: Some of the participants from the 2006 campaign kick-off which was also a walk that raised critical funds to provide heating assistance for those with no place left to turn for help.

Sunday, December 14, 2014 – Sounds of the Season

On Sunday, December 14th at 3:00 pm the Gregorian Concert Choir and Festival Orchestra will present a Concert entitled “The Sounds of the Season” at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence. The Concert which will feature the music of Advent and Christmas will benefit Bishop Tobin’s “Keep the Heat On Challenge” which assists poor and low income families with utility expenses. Tickets for the Concert are $10 per person and may be purchased by calling the Cathedral office at (401)331-2434. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the Concert.

The Gregorian Concert Choir and Festival Orchestra under the direction of Rev. Msgr. Anthony Mancini, conductor and Philip Farone, organist, invite you to ‘The Sounds of the Season,’ music of Advent and Christmas, December 8, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, Providence.  The Concert will feature the music of Advent and Christmas and will benefit Bishop Tobin’s “Keep the Heat On” Fund which assists poor and low income families with utility expenses.  Tickets for the Concert are $10 per person and may be purchased by calling the Cathedral Office at (401) 331-2434.  Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the Concert.  A reception will follow in Cathedral Hall.

Sunday, February 2, 2014 – Pancake Breakfast to benefit “Keep the Heat On “

St. Pius V Church in Providence is hosting a free Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 2 from 9:30am to 1:00pm.  All goodwill donations will go to the “Keep the Heat On” Fund.

2011-2012 Events

October 25, 2011 – Campaign Kick-Off

PAWTUCKET–As Rhode Islanders continue to cope with persistently high unemployment and forced to make difficult choices between heating their homes or other needs, the Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin will announce the kick-off of Keep the Heat On, a program of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence that provides heating assistance to Rhode Islanders with no place left to turn for help.

The announcement will take place at Woodlawn Catholic Regional Elementary School, 61 Hope Street, Pawtucket at10:00 a.m. and will include a brief speaking program including the Bishop, a Keep the Heat On beneficiary and a student representative of the school.  The Bishop will also announce a grant from the Catholic Charity Appeal that will enable Keep the Heat On to begin providing assistance to Rhode Islanders who qualify under the program.

2010-2011 Events

January 8, 2011 – Roast Pork Dinner for Heat
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus, St. Francis Council No. 2011,will hold a roast pork dinner,  Jan. 8, 5:30-7 p.m., at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road. The menu will also include stuffing, roasted red potatoes, string beans almondine, soup, rolls and butter, coffee and tea. Proceeds from the event will benefit Keep the Heat On. December 5, 2010 – Sounds of the Season
The Gregorian Concert Choir, Choir of Cranston High School West and Festival Orchestra under the direction of Rev. Msgr. Anthony Mancini, conductor and Philip Farone, organist, invite you to ‘The Sounds of the Season,’ music of Advent and Christmas, December 5, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul.  Proceeds from this concert benefit ‘Keep the Heat On’.

November 9, 2010 – Campaign Kick-Off
Following the region’s first snow fall which resulted in a dramatic increase in calls from those who cannot afford their heating bills, The Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence will launch the 2010-11 Keep the Heat On Campaign, 11:00 a.m. at the St. Martin de Porres Center, 160 Cranston Street in Providence and also announce a significant matching grant that will enable the Diocese to immediately provide heating assistance to those with no place left to turn for help.

2009-2010 Events

February 28, 2010 – A Concert of Sacred Music
The Gregorian Concert Choir and Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Rev. Anthony Mancini, along with The Choir of Cranston High School West will perform a concert entitled “A Concert of Sacred Music”, at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter & Paul in Providence on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets to the event are $10.00 per person.

Sponsored by the Diocese of Providence, the concert will benefit Bishop Thomas Tobin’s “Keep the Heat On” Challenge. This fund has been established to assist those unable to pay their heating bills through the winter months.

KEEP THE HEAT ON KICK-OFF
Keep the Heat On is pleased to partner with the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, Governor Don Carcieri, Senate President Teresa Paiva-Weed and Speaker William Murphy to kick-off the 2009-2010 campaign to help Rhode Islanders with no place left to turn for heating assistance.

The event is scheduled for 2:30PM on Monday, November 23 at LaSalle Academy in Providence.

2008-2009 EVENTS

December 12, 2008 – Dunkin Donuts Center

Providence, RI – The Providence Bruins are partnering with Wal-Mart and The Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence’s Keep The Heat On Campaign to raise awareness and help support the Keep the Heat On Campaign. Wal-Mart has donated $25,000 to the Keep the Heat On Campaign.

The Providence Bruins and Wal-Mart have invited the Keep the Heat On Campaign out to the P-Bruins game on December 12 to further raise awareness of their efforts in the Providence community. Wal-Mart will be making an on-ice check presentation of the $25,000 grant to the Keep the Heat On Campaign prior to the game and fans will be able to visit Keep the Heat On representatives on the concourse throughout the game night to learn more about the organizations efforts.

Anthony Mancini, will perform a concert entitled “The Sounds of the Season”, featuring sacred music of Advent and Christmas at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter & Paul in Providence on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.. Tickets to the event are $10.00 per person.

Sponsored by the Diocese of Providence, the concert will benefit Bishop Thomas Tobin’s “Keep the Heat On” Challenge in aid of the Interfaith Dire Emergency Fund. This fund has been established to assist those unable to pay their heating bills through the winter months.
