PROVIDENCE, R.I.— Most Rev. Richard G. Henning, Bishop of Providence, will kick off the 19th annual Keep the Heat On campaign on November 28. The confirmation students at Christ the King Parish,180 Old North Rd., South Kingstown, will present a check to Bishop Henning in support of Keep the Heat On.
Entering its 19th year, Keep the Heat On provides emergency home heating oil delivery and utility bill assistance for Rhode Islanders in need, who have exhausted other public and private assistance programs and still need help. Keep the Heat On has contributed more than $4.1 Million in heating assistance to more than 17,200 Rhode Island households (families and individuals).
The campaign kick off event will take place in the parish center with the parish's faith formation students. Rev. Jared Costanza, pastor, Christ the King will open, then Bishop Henning will speak with the Confirmation students. Media are invited to cover.
